Murrays Cottage
Troy Emery's art practice explores animals as decorative objects. Utilising materials such as pompoms, tassels, tinsel and yarn, Emery's work intentionally confuses traditional sculpture with handicrafts. His recent sculptures have involved working with acrylic yarn to create topiary like figures and hand-making tassels to create forms that are less defined and less figurative. Emery will extend on this body of work during his residency as well as work on a series of small embroideries.
