Mark Dober and Elizabeth Nelson are an artist couple who often collaborate on paintings and drawings created in situ in the Australian landscape. While in Hill End the couple intend to create a series of large-scale works on paper that will evoke the presence of place and a sense of immersion in the Hill End landscape. They are particularly interested in exploring the edge of the settlement; where the impact of clearing and the region’s mining heritage give way to, and intersect with, the inscrutable world of nature.
