Sassy Park's ceramic sculptures often explore the forgotten or overlooked. At Hill End, she will engage with a series of ceramic figures based on the past and present personalities and life of the region. The Holtermann Collection of photographs which originated in Hill End during the gold rush era, will be a starting point to inspire the artwork. Ceramic objects have often been used to carry ideas of the souvenir. The daily familiarity we have with ceramics makes it the perfect medium for commemorating the small observations of the everyday. It is these observations that find their way into Park's work.
