1 – 26 November 2021

Frederico Câmara originates from a state in Brazil called Minas Gerais, which translates to ‘general mines’. People who are born in this state are usually called Mineiros or ‘miners’. Being a Mineiro, Câmara will research and create artworks that are relevant to Hill End’s history of mining, its actors, processes, techniques, and tools. He will work on a series of experiments in drawing, printmaking, and artist’s books titled “Drawing Meditations”. In this series, he considers the act of drawing as meditative, performative, and autobiographical. In his new work, Câmara will consider the natural and cultural landscapes of Hill End.
