JEN DENZIN
Murrays Cottage
1 - 26 September 2021
Artist Jen Denzin will walk around Hill End sites, such as the History Hill Museum, Tambaroora, and Golden Gully - areas specifically related to Chinese goldminers and market gardeners during and following the Goldrush in the mid-nineteenth century. Denzin plans to continue a series of work she began in 2010 which explores the contributions Chinese miners made to Australian mining communities, from herbal medicines to a regular supply of affordable vegetables. Denzin’s new work will take the form of assemblages created from a combination of found objects and goldrush souvenirs. The pieces will be part of a larger immersive installation experience.
