Becky Gibson will use her time in Hill End to make plein air paintings responding to the landscape and history of the area. These sketches will then be used to make larger sustained paintings in the studio. Of particular interest are the sites that represent the erased or dilapidated mining town that once existed and how they fit in the current landscape of Hill End.
