Alexandra Standen's ceramic practice is informed by her experience of moving from a rural to an urban environment to undertake studies at the National Art School, Sydney, where she recently completed her Honours year. During her residency Standen plans to develop a range of drawings and sketches that explore the unique atmosphere of Hill End's remote location and rugged landscape. As well as drawing in ink and charcoal, Standen will create a series of clay vessels exploring themes of containment, human experience and memory.
